Accommodation

We generally suggest booking your accommodation as soon as possible to ensure availability.

We have worked to set aside several rooms for a limited time at multiple establishments close to the meeting venue. We note that these room holdings are for both this meeting and the preceding SPINS-UK meeting, and although we mention the entire week in some cases, rooms can in general be booked for a portion of the week.

Information is included below for each suggested location, which were chosen based on their proximity to the meeting venue (see map on this page).

Unique to Norwich – support local business!

The Maids Head Hotel
Known to be be the oldest hotel in the UK, dating back over 800 years!
We have reserved for 14-20 April:

8 standard double rooms at £95/night
8 executive double rooms at £110/night (can be converted into a 2 x twin room)

Mention UEA conference when booking.
Rooms will be held until 14 March.

Fishergate Apartments
We have reserved 4 apartments at £96/night:

3 for 15-20 April
1 for 16-18 April

Includes a single king-size bed, kitchen, and complementary food "starter pack" (e.g. milk, biscuits, bread, etc.).

These must be directly reserved by phone at +44 (0)1603 343600. Mention the SPINS-UK meeting when booking (This is the case even for the EPTA meeting). Rooms will be held until 23 February, so please book early if this interests you.

Number 17 Bed and Breakfast
For 15-20 April, we have reserved:

1 single rooms at £60 per night
2 double rooms (1 large bed) at £95 per night for 2 people or £65 per night for single occupancy

For 16-20 April, we have reserved:

1 single rooms at £60 per night
3 twin rooms (2 single beds) at £95 per night for 2 people or £65 per night for single occupancy
2 family suites for 3 or 4 people at £135 per night or £105 per night for two people; these suites have 1 king-size bed and 2 single beds.

St. Giles House
We could not reserve rooms here, but as of 9 February, the following rooms are available from 15-20 April:

2 twin rooms at £115/night
4 executive doubles at £115/night
1 "cosy" (single bed) at £105/night
2 Georgian Suites (incl. breakfast) at £125/night
9 2-bedroom apartments at £165/night

Please also keep in mind that travel booking sites may have offers on some of these rooms, so it would be worth checking these first.

Chain hotels

We could not reserve rooms at these locations, but they are also very near to the meeting velue:

Premier Inn Duke Street location (not the Nelson location on Prince of Wales Road)

15+ rooms currently (as of 9 February) available at a rate of £75.99/night, including breakfast.

Travelodge Central Riverside

Rooms range anywhere from £39-64/night/person.
